The Lighting Project
A ministry of FBC Cabool that seek to train leaders to use the Word to enlighten the mind, reveal the heart, direct lives, and witness to the world.
In cooperation with the CLD program of Spurgeon College this Fall, we will begin offering FREE accredited courses to individuals interested in developing as a leader within their church or parachurch context. We also have opportunities for people interested in participating in the courses without seeking college credits. For those seeking Masters level accreditation, please contact us for other opportunities.
Considering the work required to offer these courses and the fact that they are free, we will need to limit the number of accredited spots, but there is unlimited seating for those seeking to audit.
Why?
The church in rural America is in an epidemic. There are a growing number of pastorless churches. And many pastors have had little to no opportunity for training or discipleship. These observations began to burden the leadership of our church, particularly Pastor Benjamin. We began praying that God would give us a vision of how God could use us to make a difference. Over the year, God worked in the hearts of 5 men from within our congregation to grow as leaders. We began with a Leadership Lab in preaching and teaching and decided this could be bigger. After several conversations with Spurgeon College, we believe we have an opportunity that could benefit many local churches and the leaders within them. We pray this would be a tool to call out the called and equip those who desire to lead in their churches.
