Community Trunk or Treat

October 31 from 4:00-6:30pm

The Cabool Park Board has organized a city-wide Trunk or Treat for October 31st which will be fun for the whole family.  They have asked the local churches and businesses to partner with them in order to provide a fun, safe environment for the children in a variety of activities.  Check out what will be happening:

This year a contest will be held by the Gazebo at the Photo Stage(See Tab).  Families can begin registering their children at 4:00pm. They will be asked to fill out the child’s name, age category, and costume description.  Beginning at 4:15 they will have each age group take the stage one at a time and show off their creativity.  Be listening for their name over the loud speakers.

The costumes will be judged by local educators and they will reward prizes for the top four contestants in each age category: 2 and under, 3- preschool, K thru 2nd Grade, 3rd and 4th Grade.  Prizes will include Bikes, gift cards, and more.

Near the Gazebo we will have a picture perfect area for you to take some pictures of the kiddos all dressed up.  We are blessed to have Ammie Williams and Lindsey Miller take time to put this together, so we can remember the fun through pictures.

Beginning at 4:45pm, we will be having a trunk or treat with candy provided by local churches, businesses, and the fire department on main street between Ozark Web Press and Cabool State Bank.  This is an effort to provide safe candy for all the children.  There will be semi-trucks, a fire truck, and many decorated cars for the children to enjoy as they show off their costumes and collect candy.

If you are a local business or organization that would like to participate please let us know, so we can reserve enough space for everyone. Cars can begin setting up at 3:30pm and will need to be in place by 4:00pm.

Beginning at 5:00pm, the Mayors Youth Council will be hosting several games and face painting in the Memorial Park next to the City Hall.  It will be a fun time for your children to do some holiday themed activities and for you to enjoy a few laughs.  So come enjoy monster sack races, the witch hat toss, the pumpkin toss, and many more.

On the North side of the Gazebo, they will be having a chili cook-off contest, to be judged by local businesses.  So bring your best pot of chili cooked, hot, and ready to serve and win a prize! Judging will begin at 5:30pm.

Sunset is supposed to be around 6:10pm this evening, so as it grows darker we will be showing a movie on the wall to the west of the Gazebo in down town.  Bring your lawn chairs and some blankets and enjoy the time with your family. We will be watching “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.”

We are so blessed by Trinity Free Will Baptist and their offer to give away chili and hot dogs to those in attendance.  Please be sure to thank them for their generosity.
